 Martin L. Gore is known as one of the most respected influential lyricist and musician in the history of music. His words and melodies strike a cord in millions of fans around the world.
Working within the realms of Depeche mode, Martin L. Gore Has left an indelible mark; The constant reshaping and reinventing the bands distinguish sound, to which he was partially responsible, has establishing them as an electro pop pioneers thus paving their way to world stardom.
Born in Dagenham, Essex, young martin moved with his family to Besilldon where he was brought and raised.
In 1979 he left school and went to work as a bank clerk in London. While working, he played in a duo with a school friend by the name: "Norman and the worms". In 1980 he joined Vince Clark and Andrew Fletcher and together they formed "Composition of sound". Later that year, Dave Gahan was spotted singing at a local club and was added to the band. He soon renamed it: Depeche Mode.
After their first album Vince quit. Martin, who until then only wrote 2 songs, pulled the reigns and began writing for their second album. From now on, as well as playing guitar and keyboards, he will account for 90% of the writings, demos and pre production.
Within the years, Martin will develop to be a most sensitive profound writer. His provocative yet heartfelt lyrics convey and cover such a large range of emotions: love, pain, desire, obsession, submission, faith, fear, dependency, insecurity, relationships, religion & redemption. His strength resides with the mysterious illusive words; they can be interpreted in so many ways. The somber, moodier-often subversive content will label them as the world’s doom& gloom group.
On May 27th 1999, Martin was honored the Ivor novello award. A distinguish prize granted by the British Academy of composers & songwriters as a token for his “International Achievements” in this field.
Martin Lee Gore is undoubtedly the musical genius behind the band, and will likely be remembered as one of the greatest writers of all-times.

Following Recoil's recent US leg tour announcement, we are excited to add another special date - this time at The Metro in Chicago on26th October.
'A Strange Hour' will be presented at a unique event - a double bill featuring both Recoil and Gary Numan! Gary and his band will be performing his classic 'The Pleasure Principle' album in full. Architectare also on the bill for this show.
With layers of analogue synthesizers and futuristic, dystopian lyrics, The Pleasure Principle's 10 songs are given one-word titles; not least the massive hit single 'Cars', arguably the first British electro song to dent the US charts.
'The Pleasure Principle' is Gary Numan's most commercially successful album and is a striking turnaround from the guitar-powered, Joy Division-like post punk of his original band Tubeway Army.

Alan Wilder, formerly of Depeche Mode and now recording as Recoil, has announced details of a brand new iPhone App. Available now, the Recoil app allows you to follow Alan’s activities and the fan’s thoughts & musings whilst Recoil is on the
road or in the studio. As well as providing a hub for Recoil’s social networking, there is also access to photos, videos, audio and Alan’s concepts behind each of his albums.

After successful presentations of ‘A Strange Hour’ across Europe and the US – performances which marked the first time Recoil had ventured out of the studio - further dates have been announced in South America for November 2010, with more

Recoil Selected, a brand new selection of classic Recoil tracks, is out now. With a tracklisting chosen by Alan Wilder who explains: "The collection is made up of my personal favourites, remastered and edited together into what I consider a cohesive and total listening experience.”
The album features a varied selection of vocalists including Diamanda Galás, Joe Richardson, Douglas McCarthy (Nitzer Ebb), Nicole Blackman, Samantha Coerbell, Toni Halliday (Curve) and Maggie Estep.
Recoil Selected is available to download and as 1CD and 2CD editions.
Limited edition deluxe 4-disc box set and a vinyl edition have both now sold out.
During his 14 years as a member of Depeche Mode, as well as being an accomplished musician, Alan really honed his skills in the studio. With his attention to detail, Wilder pushed the boundaries even within the restrictive climate of commercial
pop. As an antidote to the demands of the Mode, his studio project Recoil was born in the mid-eighties. Two albums were released: ‘Hydrology’ (1988) and ‘Bloodline’ (1990) both giving an indication of his expanding horizons.
After his departure from Depeche Mode in 1995, Wilder resurrected Recoil full-time and has since released ‘Unsound Methods’ (1997), ‘Liquid’ (2000) and ‘subHuman’ (2007).

David marked the joyous occasion of the formal adoption of James Nicholas Rogers-Gahan, the son of his wife of eleven years, Jennifer Sklias-Gahan in New York City on Wednesday March 24th. Jimmy officially joins David's other two children -- daughter Stella Rose Gahan, and son, Jack Gahan.

Depeche Mode and Hublot launch the auction of the most exclusive collector's pieces in the history of Rock and Roll with all proceeds donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Bidding begins February 8th and terminates February 24th
Twelve unique timepieces bearing the album artwork of Depeche Mode's legendary studio albums will be sold via an online auction with all proceeds from the sale going to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

On February 17th Depeche Mode will open the 10th season of concerts organised by the charity Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) at the Royal Albert Hall in London with The Horrors announced as their special guests.
On this occasion, and in support of this cause, Depeche Mode and Hublot have joined forces to produce twelve exclusive boxed sets. In side these exquisitely designed presentation boxes, fans of Depeche Mode will find a treasure chest of exclusive materials chosen by the band.
Each box contains:

Recoil is set to release an album in the Spring of 2010 entitled 'Selected'. The exact date is still to be confirmed but it will most likely be in April or May. This release is a selection of classic Recoil tracks chosen by Alan Wilder who says: "The collection is made up of my personal favourites, remastered and edited together into what I consider a cohesive and total listening experience."
So far, the 'Selected' formats have been confirmed as a single CD version as well as a double pack CD. The double CD will feature a second disc including many new remixes and alternative versions, again chosen and edited together by Alan and Paul Kendall.
In support of the album, we are also very excited to announce a Recoil Events tour which will take place across Europe and in the US between March & May. Dates will be announced shortly and you can expect some interesting developments as each city is confirmed.
