According to CDON.com, a new live DVD titled "Live Monsters" of Dave Gahan”s Paper Monsters Tour is about to be released in March 2003. The new DVD has already a cat. number of DVDSTUMM216.
This is not confirmed yet by official sources and we”ll update soon.

18.11.2003 | MARTIN GORE SPEAKS ABOUT DM FUTURE

In a new interview for the French magazine D-Side number 19 (November - December) Martin says that he has started working on new material since the end of September 2003. "I have finished one song and I have some ideas for others. The song that I have finished is very electronic but it has also some guitar notes".

Martin also talks about the meeting that will take place in London at the end of the month between the band and Daniel Miller where they are to discuss if there will be a new Depeche Mode album or not. "We can”t be sure at hundred per cent. I wouldn”t want my answer to be misinterpreted because there are good chances that we work together again. It”s just that we need to meet to discuss what we want to do".

When Martin is asked about Dave”s contribution to the writing process he answers: "... the answer is in a "gray area" at the moment. We will have to see if our compositions are compatible, if they can coexist on the same album. It is certainly one of the questions we will have to answer before considering a new Depeche Mode".

Andy Fletcher had a video interview in Italy with depechemodeitalia.com, and he spoke about Depeche Mode future which seems to him a bit close. DM will release 1 or 2 albums and then will put an end to it. The next album might be released in Spring 2005.

22.08.2003 | DAVE GAHAN QUITTING DEPECHE MODE?

After releasing his debut solo album Paper Monsters this summer, singer Dave Gahan is thinking about quitting Depeche Mode.
"It”s become increasingly difficult for me," Gahan says. "When we go on tour and I”m performing, I know that I contribute a great deal to what we do -- in terms of bringing the songs to life on stage. But in the studio, it”s like [keyboardist and songwriter] Martin [Gore] might as well be doing it himself . . . They”re his songs, his ideas, and I”m the voice on top of it."

"It”s just not fun in the studio if you”ve got an idea for something and the person you”re working with can”t even be bothered to pick a guitar up," Gahan continues. "It seems to me like a waste of time."

We hope that the Violator incident wont return in this case, where thousands of fans cause several injuries to themselves while Depeche Mode were signing on Violator copies.

Alan Wilder and Andy Fletcher had visited Martin Gore”s London gig on May 2nd.
Few people who saw Alan were confused if this is really Alan Wilder, after
long time he haven”t shown up in occasion like this. Some of the reports were about his loss of weight but a small grey hairs in his head... Anyways, rumours say that Alan met Dave Gahan as well during the DVD+ promotion in the US and some quots there were talking about a "DM re-union". Lets hope it”s true.

28.04.2003 | DEPECHE MODE WILL ALWAYS EXIST...

Dave Gahan has been in an interview at Swedish TV broadcast. One of the questions was about the end of the day for Depeche Mode, and Dave answered "Depeche Mode will always exist, and Martin and I will have a meeting in the end of the year to discuss if and when we should do a new recording".
Dave also said he would be back on stage in Europe for some more gigs later on in the summer, though still no dates or places are known at the moment.

25.03.2003 | MARTIN GORE MINI-TOUR ALMOST COMPLETELY SOLD OUT

The Martin Gore mini-tour, first announced by Side-Line on March 10th, reveals to be a great succes ticketsalewise. Almost every concert of the mini 6 date only tour that has been planned is now more or less sold out. The german dates for instance were fully booked minutes after the tickets went up for sale. It”s clear that the online german Depeche Mode fanbase created a rush for the tickets. The same happened with the french date that is now almost sold out as well

New date has been added to the "Paper Monster" Tour of Dave Gahan, after the London gig in July 9th has been sold out. The new date is set to the day after, July 10th at the same place, Shepherds Bush Empire.

This April, Martin Gore will perform live at 4 cities around Europe, but for a very small audience, which makes it a bit "personal" tour. Paris, Brussels, Berlin and Stockholm are currenly in this list. Note that it is yet not officialy confirmed.

Dave confirms another live performance at the Werchter festival in Belgium on June 28th. Another bands performing this festival are Rצyskopp, Metallica, Massive Attack, Moby, Timo Maas, Bjצrk, Underworld (or Radiohead), R.E.M and Coldplay.

"I cast a lonesome shadow", the 2nd track in the "Stardust" promotional CD may catch your ears, ”cause of its nice melody and production.

Martin L. Gore, songwriter and one of the founding members of Depeche Mode, is set to release his new album "Counterfeit²" on Mute on the 28th of April. "Stardust", a version of the David Essex classic, is the first single to be lifted from the album and is released on the 14th of April.

David Gahan is about to release the first ever solo album and be on a tour to promote it. The album was recorded at Electric Ladyland Studios in New York.
